Trials and Tribulations: The Chronicles of Darius Book 16 (The Dagger of Destiny)

Trials and Tribulations: The Chronicles of Darius Book 16 (The Dagger of Destiny) continues the Chronicles of Darius book series. If you have read the other volumes, you will know what to expect from this version. If you have not, you should probably go back and read those before diving into this one.
Trials and Tribulations extends Darius’ adventures and stretches him thinner than ever before. He must save himself, his friends, and his clan from the oncoming darkness.
There are bits of the book that are a little clunky, and the writing a little choppy, but overall, the story is a good continuation of the rest of the series. It has a lot of interesting characters and a rich world that draws you in. Especially if you have been following this series from the beginning. Tasar is fleshed out more than in past novels and the battles between Ammit, Anubis and Predition keep the action moving.
If you enjoy adventure, wizards, decently-written LGBT+ characters, and/or fantasy, this is a good series to pick up. While I wouldn’t recommend picking this one up in the middle, it is not impossible to follow most of the plot points if you start here. You miss out on the nuance and character history but can still enjoy the book. Overall, this is a decent novel with fun characters and a plot that moves along and does not drag. If you were thinking of picking it up, definitely give it a go.
I received a free, no-strings-attached, advanced reader’s copy of this book.
