Once Bitten is the story of a husband and wife team of private investigators who have been hired to find evidence that a man convicted of murdering his lover, and currently sitting on death row, is actually innocent. Mike is a former detective and Linda is a former professor of criminology. They are hired by the alleged murderer’s sister who is convinced he is being framed.
From there the adventure continues. From the moment Mike and Linda take the case you quickly become invested in the characters and the story. The jump in perspective between characters is interesting and moves the plot along in interesting ways.
This was a fun, quick little mystery. Some of the characters are a bit like cardboard and the dialogue is sometimes stilted. However, this did not detract too much from the fun and overall enjoyability of the book. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and has just enough twists to keep things interesting. All-in-all a pretty good and entertaining mystery.
If you enjoy good mysteries, you might like this one. If you aren’t sure, you might as well and give this one a go. It’s a quick read and a lot of fun. Enjoy!
