Kingdom of the Silver Cat (The Sapphire Fruit Chronicles Book 1)

Kingdom of the Silver Cat is an absolute thrill ride from beginning to end. It is a wonderful children’s book that anybody could enjoy. The illustrations are fun and whimsical and strengthens the great writing and storytelling without detracting or distracting from the plot.
A school bus manages to be magically transported to a strange land. The writing is reminiscent of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and the Chronicles of Narnia series.
In this new land, the children end up having to fend for themselves and navigate a situation where they are suddenly endowed with magical powers. The adventure really takes of quickly and does not let up. It is fun, quick, and action-packed. There are morals and lessons to be learned from reading this, especially for children, but is not in any way a preachy book. It’s simply a fun story with heart.
The relationships and raport amongst and between the children is interesting and keeps the plot interesting. The characters are fully-fleshed out and make the plot and situations land with a harder emotional impact than many other fantasy novels.
The world-building is also fascinating and feels lived-in. The world becomes its own rich character and really adds depth to an already robust novel.
All told, this was a really fun book to read. It is a unique story with unique characters and an exciting plot. Pick it up and treat yourself to a really good book with heart and soul.
