Skellig: The Tales of Conor Archer, Volume 2

This is the second book in the The Tales of Conor Archer series. I read and reviewed the first book back in October and was excited to see the second book was released. Conor was a street musician in Chicago and worked at a local Irish pub. In the first book, he is bitten by a stranger while making his way home to say goodbye to his mother for the last time as she dies of cancer. She warns him that the bite made him sick and he needed to return to her small hometown on the banks of the Wisconsin River.
The first book had a unique flavor and interesting mix of myths and legends that served almost its own character in the story. The eccentric characters add to the mystery. This second book continues where the first left off.
This book is a lot of fun and built the character in interesting and unexpected ways. This time the adventure takes place in Ireland and Conor begins to explore the limits of his powers and makes interesting discoveries along the way.
I don’t want to spoil it, but if you enjoyed the first one, you will definitely enjoy the second one. The writing in the first is great but even better in this one. Overall, it is an enjoyable continuation of an interesting story. Go ahead and pick this one up and I think you will enjoy it. It is a different, interesting take on a typical fantasy novel.
