The Light Reapers was a really fun book. The plot is fast-moving and interesting and the characters are fully-formed and felt real. It was an interesting concept reinforced by good writing and dialog.

The author really captured the mood and feeling of a post-apocalyptic world. A special operations unit, called the Light Reapers, are activated to stop the most viral weapon ever produced from destroying the world. It pits terrorists against terrorists against soldiers.

Keeping the world from being infected is a big mission but, being such a crack unit, the Light Reapers are really the only unit up for the job. The raport among the unit is obvious and the mission and plot are really clear from the beginning. That’s not to say it is predictable because it wasn’t. It was just a well-defined story that made everything happening in the story that much more interesting. The author really created a lived-in world that felt plausible and was still very interesting.

Overall, if you enjoy dystopian fiction, then this will definitely be the book for you. If you are looking for realistic action and war, then this is a great book. Having an author that is a former soldier makes for much more realistic action and camaraderie found amongst soldiers facing a common enemy. This was just a solid piece of fiction that held my interest the whole time.
