The Persuasive Marketer wades into territory covered by hundreds or thousands of other books discussing marketing and business. It is an incredibly difficult market in which to make a mark but I think this book offers something that has been missing from other books on this topic—the importance of having a good product to market and having a deep understanding of how that product meets the needs of customers and potential customers. Or at least a compelling, reality-based, argument to convince customers that the product has meaningful value.
I’m not sure that is stated explicitly in the book but that is the central thesis I drew after reading the whole thing. There is a ton of excellent advice throughout that hinges on that premise being true. The advice in this book should be able to help anyone looking to improve their products in customers’ and potential customers’ eyes and increase sales. Overall, a great read for anyone with even a passing interest in marketing.
